Rapid and highly sensitive biomarker detection system for medical diagnosis

Background

Medical diagnosis that can be performed at home or at the bedside is one of the important techniques for coming aging society. We are trying to achieve the required performance in the current medical tests by appropriately designing the reaction space on the submicron scale including the pore structure of the porous membranes to achieve rapidity and high sensitivity.

Outcome

We aim to construct a highly sensitive and rapid molecular detection method by high-density immobilization of receptors on porous membrane materials and system design through chemical engineering. Now we are also trying to develope sensing materials such as molecular recognition gating membrane which opens and closes pores depending on the presence or absence of specific molecules, and a new molecular recognition membrane that causes coloring in response to target molecules with extremely low concentrations of pM to fM.
