Development of novel chemical tools targeting RNA

研究の背景 Background


RNA is a biological molecule which plays prominent roles as the messenger of genetic information and the regulator of gene expression. Recently, it has been clear that RNA is involved in a wide array of biological phenomena. Chemical tools targeting RNA will be not only useful for the understanding of unexplained biological phenomena, but also expected to be expanded to the field of drug discovery

研究の目標 Outcome


We have been developed the new methods to form the interlocked architectures such as catenane or rotaxane to the target RNA using designed and synthesized functional molecules. This type of method has been expected to be a new method for inhibition of translation or a fundamental tool of nanotechnology.
