Drug discovery studies based on the construction and screening of peptide library

研究の背景 Background


Controlling protein-protein interactions (PPI) in proteins is extremely difficult due to the wide interaction faces of PPIs, and PPI inhibitors are currently being actively studied as a new drug discovery category.  Peptide compounds capable of forming unique three-dimensional structures are expected as platforms for the discovery of drug seeds.  However, in order to discovery drug seeds based on peptides, it is necessary to find appropriate sequences for exhibiting specific activity and to overcome the problems peculiar to peptide compounds such as metabolic stability and membrane permeability.

研究の目標 Outcome


We aim to find peptide-based drug seeds that have an appropriate sequence for the expression of specific bioactivity and overcome the problem of metabolic stability and membrane permeability.  The purpose of our research is to establish the discovery system of peptide-based drug seeds by constructing, screening, and analyzing peptide libraries.
