研究の背景 Background


I want to utilize recent advanced sensing equipment as well as IoT technologies for chemical synthesis. The dynamic and precise operation of the chemical process is one of the goals for chemical engineering in the 21st century. An automated chemical experiment is also an important target because it will dramatically improve productivity and reproducibility of chemistry research. I’m also interested in microreactors as one of the enabling tools.

研究の目標 Outcome

現在開発している実験装置の一例をFig. 1に、稼働中の映像をFig. 2に示します。これらの装置・ソフトで実現したいこととしては、(1) 熟練のシェフが素材ごとに繊細な料理をするように、反応器内部の状況に合わせて細かな操作を行う (2) 膨大な量の計測データを自動実験により取得し、効率的な最適化を行う (3)先進的な化学実験に必要なノウハウを機械化し、一般化と普及を促進する といったことがあります。

A reactor system in development is shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 shows an example of operation. The goals of these machines and software are as follows: (1) Precise operation with the feedback from the reactor condition, (2) Efficient optimization by processing numerous data obtained by automated experiment, and (3) Democratize the advanced chemical research by implementing researchers’ experience into the machines.
