研究の背景 Background


Substitution of ions in the host crystals are effective method for creating novel functional materials. For examples, substitution of cation site with rare earth elements provides phosphor materials. To develop expeditiously the novel functional materials with such a substitution process, it is necessary to measure precisely the environments of the crystal sites, and to feedback the result on the material design.

研究の目標 Outcome


The purpose of my research is to develop novel functional materials, and, especially, to optimize the crystallization process of materials designed by cation substitution. To accomplish the successful outcome, both natural minerals and artificial crystals are investigated with texture analysis, crystal growth, and X-ray crystal structure analysis.
